Great Date Deals Atlanta Brunch

One thing I love about about writing a blog, besides sharing my story, is having the chance to meet people I never would have never met if I did not have Miss Foodie Fab.

I’ve met some cool people along this blog journey of mine and one of those people is my blogger pal Dea of Pretty Girls Rock Dresses. So when Dea asked if the mister and I would be free after church, on Sunday, and would we like to attend a Valentine’s brunch with Great Date Deals Atlanta, I said, “Uh yeah!”

I mean a chance to eat, hear good music, hang out with my bloggers pals, and go on a date with my booski at the same time?! No. Brainer.

Now I totally was going to write this long flowery write-up for y’all, because you know I like to keep it entertaining around this here joint. However I’m writing this on the night of Scandal and, *Kevin Hart voice* it’s about to go down! This means I’m going to keep it short & sweet and hope you don’t pay me no never mind!

The Valentine’s brunch was a kick-off for Great Date Deal’s upcoming VIP events, and a celebration for Great Date Deals one year anniversary. Great Date Deals is a website where you and your boo thang can one stop shop for affordable and exciting date options, right where you live. The brunch was held at Organix Lounge in the Old Fourth Ward area of Atlanta.

There was food, mimosas, music, poetry, and giveaways. As a music lover my highlight of the brunch was listening to local Atlanta artists Diana Nicole and Gregory Jarre. Mannnn, thy could BLOW! Like, flat foot sang!

Oh and some of my fave fellow bloggers were in attendance.

Anywhoo, y’all get the point. I had fun at the Great Date Deals brunch! Be sure to check Great Date Deals out the next time you plan a date night.

Scandal is on. I gots to go! Peep my pics! *blows kisses*

Bloggers Like Me Atlanta Meetup

If you didn’t know, or couldn’t tell by the pretty badge on my blog, I’m a proud card-carrying Bloggers Like Me (BLM) Girl. As I previously mentioned, the BLM Girls are a fantastic community of female bloggers who I have learned so much from, and made some fabulous connections through.

In October the BLM Girls will host several happy hours in NY, LA, Chicago, DC, Charlotte, and of course Atlanta. If you would like to join BLM and attend one of our future meetups, but you are unsure what’s in store for you, please watch this quick video recap of the first Atlanta meetup I hosted.

I hope to see you at a BLM meetup in the future!

Fashion Night Out Atlanta, Fro Fashion Week, & More

So what had happened was….. Don’t you love it when a conversation or an apology starts off like that?! Yeah me neither, but uhm what had really happened was I was a bit of a social busy bee in September. So much so that instead of sharing with you all my September escapades in individual blog posts, I just Instagrammed my patootie off. However before you start with the, “I don’t follow you on Instagram” speech, I want you to know I got you mannnnn! Check out my pics from Fashion Night Out Atlanta, Fro Fashion Week, and more!

I had the best time at G. Gilbert’s Fashion Show during Fashion Night Out in Atlanta. I met fellow bloggers, caught up with a blogger pal and her friends, and sipped myself silly with wine.

East Atlanta Strut, Miss Foodie Fab, PBR, Pabt Blue Ribbon

The mister & I hit up East Atlanta Strut sponsored by Pabst Blue Ribbon. We ate good, saw a parade full of drag queens, & listened to cool bands. I even spotted a Star War’s storm trooper.

Pretty City’s Live Beautifully Event was a blast! There were manicures, pole dancing, massages, wine, food, and all kinds of swag. I had a fabulous time and I can’t wait until they return!

Chickaritas, Kiwi the Beauty, Bloggers, Miss Foodie Fab

I hanged out with my lil sis, Kiwi the Beauty, at her Chickaritas event. Fun times were had sipping margaritas, shopping, and dishing about reality TV with fellow bloggers and friends.

Fall Fro Fashion Week, Natural Hair, Bloggers, Miss Foodie Fab, Curl's Unleashed, Natural Hair Bloggers

Attended the Fall Fro Fashion Week and it was right up my product junkie alley. I scored some great products to try out on my hair, swapped hair tips, and fell in love with Lisa’s hair.

Chef Liu, Dumplings, Green Tea, Noodles, Chinese Pancake, Foodie

After all the running around I did in September, it was time for some me time. I took myself on a date to my favorite ATL Chinese restaurant, and it was worth every bite.

There you have it folks, see I totally had an excuse for my lack of posts. September was a ball of activity and I’m looking forward to what October has in store, while continuing to bringing you food, fashion, and fabulosity!

Please let me know how your September went, any thing cool happen?

XOXO, Miss Foodie Fab!

Lee’s Bakery, Banh Mi Heaven

I read about Lee’s Bakery on Buford Highway via Yelp, and because the majority of the reviews were great, I decided to give them a try. Man, let me just say “they ain’t nevah lied.” The reviews were right on! Best Banh mi ever!

Lee’s Bakery place has the best sandwich I ever devoured. If they weren’t so far away from my house I would be there now happily munching on a grilled pork bánh mì, instead of telling you about them. The night after I ate my first Lee’s Bakery bánh mì all I could think was *Homer Simpson voice*, “Yummm Banh miiiiiii!”

So what is a bánh mì? Basically it’s a Vietnamese Po’Boy, or as I would like to now call it, “The crack of all sandwiches.” A bánh mì is a baguette filled with meat or soy fillings, fresh cucumber slices, cilantro, and pickled carrots. Of all the bánh mì places on Buford Highway, Lee’s Bakery is the best. My personal favorite is the grilled pork bánh mì. Oh and did I mention they only charge $2.50 for one to go, and $3 for one ordered in? Yeah, let me not forget that. You can definitely get your grub on here for cheap.

On top of bánh mì, Lee’s Bakery also serves a mean bowl of pho and boba tea (or bubble tea). If you go be sure to try the mango boba tea. Between a bánh mì, bowl of pho, and a boba tea you might need to be waddled out the door. They will fill you up and leave you satisfied.

As far as the service, it’s excellent. The staff is very courteous and, as a person with self-diagnosed OCD, I appreciate that the staff always double bag my orders to make sure there will be no “accidents” in the car from transport.

If you live in or around the Atlanta metro area and haven’t tried this place, please drop what you are doing and go now. Your stomach and your mouth will thank me later.

Unfortunately Lee’s Bakery doesn’t have a website, but you can Google them and they are located at:

4005 Buford Hwy NE
Atlanta, GA 30345
(404) 728-1008

Have you eaten Vietnamese food before, if so what’s your favorite dish?

Atlanta Style Bloggers Free People Event

Last Friday I had the pleasure of attending the Atlanta Style Blogger’s event at Free People in White Provision. It was a fabulous event. It was the first blogger event I have attended since starting my blog, and I was very impressed. The organizers, event, and the attendees were a wonderful bunch; and I loved having the opportunity to mix and mingle.

Free People is a boutique company with several locations around the United States. They have super cute clothes, and in honor of the event they gave a 10% to 25% discount to all attendees.

Spa Spetino was also there supplying massages and manicures.

Free People’s Store Manager, Kristina, and staff were super stylish and there also were several raffle prizes given. I even won a $25 gift card to JCT Kitchen. I can not wait to use it on a future date night.

There was plenty of appetizers on hand, a dj spinning tunes, and I sampled a new beer by the name of Birra Mirosa. It was light and refreshing. I recommend it for anyone who may not be a beer lover, but  periodically wants a cold beer.

I met many stylish fellow Atlanta Style Bloggers (Tia, Katy, and Kristen Kai).

I also met a couple of lovely curvy fashionistas who were werking their curves. Yes, werking with an e! I am always happy to see fellow fabulous curvy girls .

I also chatted it up with Mattie, Atlanta Style Blogger’s Director, who I discovered loves food as much as she loves fashion. She was a pleasure to talk to and I could have chatted her ear off all night. Thank you and the rest of the Atlanta Style Blogger’s team for the warm welcome.

Like I said, it was a wonderful night and event! I’m looking forward to the next!

P.S. I wanted to include outfit shots, but I was running late for the event, and by the time I got home it was night outside. However, you are in luck, the mister snapped a couple of pics of me being my naturally silly self. Check out my model face. *wink*
